Composition

One drop of this ophthalmic solution contains the main active agent called generic bimatoprost in 0.03% concentration. It is sealed in a 3ml eye drop container which has a sophisticated eye drop applicator that makes the administration easy and hassle-free.

Use

This ophthalmic solution is an FDA approved treatment for longer, darker and fuller eyelashes. Those who have less number of eye lashes will look more after using this solution. Aside from its uses for beauty, it is also used in treating glaucoma or any other related forms of raised intra-ocular pressure because the substance that is active in this solution is known as prostamide that can drain fluid that excess in the eyes in order to reduce pressure.

Dosage and administration

As an ophthalmic solution, this should be applied on a regular basis, specifically in the evening. You may apply 1 to 2 drops though the administration will be reduced or increased if there are gradual improvements in the first 12 to 16 weeks of medication. As a healthy way of administering the product, it is important to wash both eyes and hands before pulling down the lower eyelid. After the application, it is recommended to close eyes for about 1 minute to prevent the solution from exiting the eye.

Side effects

The side effects are often in the form of itching or redness of eyes. These symptoms disappear few days after regular dosage. Some other side effects that were observed are darkening of the skin, dry eyes and irritation and redness of the eyelids. These conditions are not too strong, so as long as the doctor prescribes the next dose of bimatoprost. Main ill effects include redness of the eye, itching and moderate inflammation.
